Peanut butter buttercream

This frosting tastes like fudge!! You can adjust the sweetness by adding a little more salt. It will crust over pretty quickly, you can lengthen the time by adding more cream.

Peanut butter buttercream

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. salted butter
  • 1/2 c. crisco shortening
  • 1 c. peanut butter
  • 8 c. powdered sugar (2 lbs.)
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • about 1 c. half and half or light cream
  • 3-4 tbs. corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter, shortening and peanut butter. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time. Frosting will look dry and crumbly. At this point add vanilla and salt, then slowly add half and half and corn syrup until it reaches desired consistency.

Great recipe! I halfed the recipe and it was great. I had enough to fill my 8 in. cake and fill 12 cupcakes. I would have had even more but I couldn't quit eating the filling. So Yummy! Also, I used unsalted butter, didn't adjust the salt amount and used 1/2 and 1/2. This is a winner!

This frosting was amazing!! I made it four days ago and am still eating it by the spoonful! As for my cakes, it frosted and filled a 6in frosted 18 cupcakes and could have frosted 12 more cupcakes. I also used salted butter and didn't adjust the salt and it still tasted wonderful.
