I needed a buttercream with honey for a cake for the National Honey Boards 1st annual Honey Fest in our town so this is a simple light and delicious recipe I tried and it came out great. It is a big hit b.c it is light and not super sweet. I hope you like it.
1-2T Honey(depending on taste desired)
1/2 C unsalted butter(softened)
1/2 C Crisco
1/2t salt
1/2 C Flour
1 1/2C Powdered Sugar
Water as needed to get desired consistancy
Whip together butter and Crisco. Then add in honey and salt & combine. Add flour then powdered sugar. If it is getting to think add 1/2 t of water at a time. Whip until nice and blended.
