Buzz Lightyear Birthday Cake
This was the most challenging, yet rewarding, cake I have ever made. I made it for my son's second birthday - and he loved it. I made it from the Wilton Buzz Lightyear pan and it took me almost 4 hours from start to finish! To make things even more difficult, the Wilton instructions require you to work from a mirror image. It was overwhelming but I took it one icing colour at a time and presto! It was a simple vanilla cake with a buttercream icing. My son loved it and it was the talk of the party!

Golf Cake
I'm new to cake decorating, but I made this cake with love for my grandfather's 87th birdthday! He is still quite the golfer so I made a dense chocolate cake layered with chocolate ganache and iced it to resemble the 1st hole at his local golf course. "It was a hole in one!" (I wonder how many people used that cheesy line to describe their cake)

Tropical Island
My mother had wanted to be somewhere tropical for her 50th birthday - so I brought the beach to her! She <3 it! Devil's foodcake with vanilla icing and my mom's favorite, blue gummy sharks! Fondant and pretzels for the trees. Umm.... white fondant really needs a lot of red food coloring. I learned that. I didn't have the patience to get to red.

Christening Cake
I made this cake for my son's dedication ceremony. It's a double layer french vanilla cake with vanilla icing covered in marshmellow fondant. It's sprinkled with sparkling white sugar and decorated with silver bead candies. I was inspired by "Gakali"'s cake. I'm pretty new to the cake baking scene, and no one has ever left me a comment.... for any of my cakes... so be the first! :)
