Tae Kwon Do Dragon Cake
This was a remake of one of my first cakes. The original turned out so badly I never posted it on cc. I was much happier with this one. The dragon is buttercream over fondant, and the kicker is a fbt. All the gold parts (medallion and dragon mane) are piped white chocolate candy melts with gold luster dust painted on top.

Cherry Pie Cake
I made this cake for a pie contest at work (Did you know a layer cake with custard, jelly or cream filling is considered a pie according to the American Heritage Dictionary?). All buttercream, except the cherry pie filling. I used disco dust on the "pan" which looked neat and metallic in person, but the flash made it look funny in the pic. Thanks to klacrawford, whose cake I used for inspiration

Peacock Cake
My 13 year old stepdaughter's only request for her cake was to use my "peacock" (blue/green) disco dust. I couldn't think of anything better to make with it. The peacock is a big rice crispy treat. Most of the decorations are buttercream - the "eyes" on the tail are rice paper with edible markers, piping gel and luster dust.

Chocolate Candy Basket
I have the hardest time trying to find an idea for my husband's birthday cake, because he has so many rules! It must be chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting, no colored frosting (because he can TASTE it!) and absolutely, positively, no fondant!! It makes a cake decorator just want to WEEP!! Anyway, this is what I decided on this year...thanks especially to MoonicaLeigh, whose Valentine cake I shamelessly copied!

Another Dragon Cake!
I suppose I should take it as a compliment that everyone likes my dragon cakes enough to order one...but I wish SO desperately somebody would order something new! Anyway, this customer wanted a chinese dragon and clouds, and wanted me to use the colors red, black, purple, orange, and white! I thought it was a very strange color combination, but I did my best. Chocolate cake, cream cheese frosting, fondant dragon, and buttercream decorations.

Garden Cake
This cake would have been MUCH easier if I hadn't insisted on EVERYTHING being edible! White cake, chocolate frosting, sugar cookie "pickets" fondant flowers (my first), oreo "dirt" and everything else buttercream. The flower stems are "Pocky" wrapped in fondant, and I learned how to make the butterflies from the wonderful article on this site! Thank you!

Martial Arts Girl Cake
A cake done before I knew how much easier buttercream is to work with than cream cheese frosting! Still kind of goopy, but I tried to clean it up as much as possible. Chocolate Cake, with bct on cream cheese. Martial arts girl is breaking a graham cracker "board" Around the sides of the cake, it says "Happy Birthday Madison" in Korean.

Martial Arts Dragon
My first upload and my first experience with fondant! It was for a martial arts birthday party, and the only thing the mom wrote on the order form was "DRAGON!!" It is chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and MMF dragon (although I covered up almost all the MMF with buttercream - oh well!) The "ball" is a large dragee.
