I just started back on WW last Monday and weighed in this morning and 4.8 gone! I'm so glad I lost, but I know I could have done better. I had a 'ruff weekend with the October Fest in town. Although I DID NOT eat a funnel cake. That is one NSV!

Alracntna,

Don't feel bad. I haven't lost a thing. I worked hard too. Can't quite figure it out. Guess I'll keep at it.

I think when you work out, you are gaining muscle which weighs more than fat. Maybe that's why you haven't seen any change. It make take a few weeks, but you will be healthier because you are working out.

I am a ww member and have been for awhile. I have lost 60m pounds and currently have 18 more to go. I would like to say is that you guys are doing great. 4.8 pounds is alot of weight to loose in a week and to say I could have done better is funny to me because you only really should loose between 1/2-2 pounds a week to you did really good. If you are stuck try something different like doing core for a week or maybe not eating frozen dinners. Increasing your exerise by no more than 10%. These are things that I have done or change your time that you do your exercise that helped me loose 10 pounds. Keep it up and don't expect to loose fast because it will come back. Enjoy your sizes that you are and are going to be as you decrease. I say that because I was always big (largest 22) and so although I want to be a four I am really enjoying my tens and eights because I have never been these sizes before.

It was my son's first birthday party yesterday and his actual birthday today so I cheated and ate really really bad yesterday and had a piece of cake today and a cookie.....I feel so guilty! So even though it shows that I lost a pound this week I'm sure it will be back on by next week! icon_cry.gif

Went on a girls' weekend -no kids, no men- and everything was covered in cheese. Naturally there was wine & cocktails as well, so no loss for this week either. I did so well last week that I still had 11 weekly points left, so had it not been for all the cheese, I think I would have lost a pound. Bummer.

Back on today, though, and sticking with it.

Til next week...

WTG on the weight loss this week, everyone!!!
I wasn't perfect this past week, but I am so heading in the right direction!!! I made a couple new recipes that were fantastic! I need to up my water intake!!! I was also pretty good in that my SIL came over for dinner last night and I actually ran to my WW meeting anyway. I just weighed in and left. I knew if I skipped a week I probably wouldn't go back!
In case anyone wants an EASY very good chicken recipe (whole family liked it)...

Black Chicken

ingredients
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. ground black pepper

directions
Place Worcestershire sauce and pepper in a large skillet. Add chicken breasts and heat over medium high heat until it just comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until done, about 15 or 20 minutes. Turn chicken occasionally. SERVES 4.

I almost forgot to weigh in! I just ate and it still showed a weight loss! That was no small feat either. I had my girls' b-day party to cook for and provided (of course) the cake. I gave healthy foods as an alternative and chips and pop and stuff as well as hotdogs or pizza for the kids. I also made a healthy version of a stuffed burritto and an INCREDIBLE salad. That way, I had something to eat too. I did have a small piece of cake, but stuck mainly to the good stuff. WOOT!!!

Go me! Go me! Also, trying to hide this from my hubby is harder than I thought! He almost walked in on me Sat. right before I started doing my workout! Hoo boy! This is going to take some cunning.... keep me in your prayers all!

Well, I gained one pound. It's not as bad as I expected. I too have a good excuse.
I was out of town in Milwaukee, WI where healthy food is unheard of. icon_confused.gif

I actually had a memorial service for my folks who both passed this year so with that over, I can focus on me. whew.

Thanks for the incentive. Gotta go make cookies now! icon_lol.gif

Hi Every1,

Congrats to all the losers, and those who didn't lose keep trying!!

melodyscakes....glad you joined us! I think it would be good if you could join Weight Watchers for 1 month...14.95 online. This would be helpful to get you started and on the right track. After 1 month you would be better aquainted with how it works and how much points certain foods are. I will see if I can find a webpage that has that info without charging. Maybe someone else knows of one. I think www.dwlz.com might be one.

I'll look around and get back to you!

2morrow is my weigh in!

I don't belong to a weight watchers because of moeny issues, too. I do, however, go to bodyforlife.com for help with my exercises. I have been coming up with healthy recipes left and right that taste appealing to me, but no or low fat. You can go to google and find plenty of good sites out there. Just do your best to plan ahead, I guess. I used to weigh 240 lbs. I got down to 212 and stayed there for a while, but I'm moving on now (down to 208 in a week!) and getting serious about it. I don't want to die young.

melodyscakes,
Step 1, DRINK DRINK DRINK... water that is. Try to have a bottle or glass of water with you at all times!!! I have GREAT tap water where I am, so I bought a 20 oz. bottled water at the store and I just refill it constantly at home.
Step 2, try to practice portion control at all times! Even if you are eating something not healthy... keep it in your mind that your portions are what cause MOST if not all of weight gain. You can eat anything (even cake) in small portions.
Step 3, Exercise!!! You do not have to prep yourself for a marathon... just try to get some walking in everday. Park farther away from stores is a good start.
Like any lifechange... it truely takes babysteps.

to get a fattracker for your posts, just click on any 1 here and it will link you directly to the tracker.

Good Luck... you can do it.

OK, I am confused about my weight. I am pretty sure that I weighed 172 last week and lost one and one half pounds this week. But, when I went to pandora's challenge it had my weight at 170.5. So, I either didn't change or lost. I will go with the loss because it makes me feel better.

melodycakes, everybody had really good tips for you. Try those out and also, check out slim-fast.com. It is free and is a very user friendly site. That is the one that I use. I just need to get more serious and quit all the cheating. When I journal all my food I lose because I don't want to see the calories adding up when I put something in my mouth and then have to add it up.

Brandy, got your message from the challenge. Won't blame you for making me think I was blind. lol icon_smile.gif

Congratulations to everyone!!! Whether you lost, gained or stayed the same, you are trying to change your lifestyle and that is what is important.

Cyndi, if you like just edit your start weight in the database for the challenge. If you lost apound and a half... you need to see that for the challenge. It will surely help to keep you going! Good Luck!

Berta, Check your size, not your weight. Try on something that normally fits tight and I bet it's looser. Muscle weighs more than fat and muscle burns more calories. Sometimes when you workout a lot, you gain a few pounds in muscle but then start losing weight because your body starts running more efficiently. thumbs_up.gif

That being said, you've given me some umph to get my butt in gear.

i love ww and I do ww online right now. Everyone is talking about how expensive it is but it is only 40 a month to join and to me that is not bad and you don't have to buy any ww food you use your own food based on points. I have been attending meetings since 2002 and I would never try anything else.(60 pounds gone and counting;18 more to go)
