I posted here the other day with a warning to NOT order the BakePop pans advertised on the header & sidebar.

Unfortunately, that post was moved to the Cupcake forum, where it will be seen by many fewer members icon_confused.gif Here's the link to the thread:

http://cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-732860.html

Today, I open an e-mail from "BakePop" and it's a solicitation to BUY the pans icon_eek.gif

Now why, if I'm in my right mind, would I re-buy something THAT THEY CANCELLED THE ORDER OF AFTER A GOOD 6+ WEEK WAITING PERIOD???

I hate being treated like I'm stupid. icon_mad.gif

Please, Mod, don't move this thread. It's a post consisting of GENERAL information.

Thanks,
rae

I'm not sure if this is the same pans or not..but I was trying to get them (the one's on t.v.) as someone said that they bought some from Bed Bath and Beyond.. I went there, no luck (except for the electric one)..and I called Michaels, JoAnn's..you name it and no one had them.. Sorry this happened to you..the cake pan on t.v. looked like they were "bigger" and you could do "more"..

Sorry to hear this as I was thinking about buying them.. It's a "crazy" world out there.

They never gave me a reason.

Sent me a postcard at the 6 week mark telling me they'd be delivered in about 4 weeks and if I wanted to cancel, call. I didn't call, I wanted the pans.

At the 10 week mark, rather than sending any pans, they sent me 4 more postcards telling me that they'd cancelled the order.

Referencing some apparent confusion: These BakePop pans are NOT currently available in stores. I'm not talking about the electric donut hole maker.

Oh, and this brilliant marketing company sent me ANOTHER e-mail today asking me to buy the pans..............

Geez, what a mess. Thanks for the warning. And yes, please don't move to the cupcake forum. I only go there for cake pop stuff, so I can see why they moved it there, but I rarely go the cupcake forum. I saw this thread in "general".

Thankfully, from the get go, they said that your card wouldn't be charged until the items shipped---BUT, believe you me, I'll be watching my card like a hawk--which I just looooove to do icon_mad.gif

There are laws on how a mail-order company must handle backorders. Their card asking you if you wanted to cancel or keep waiting is required by law. Not sure, but there may be a point past which they cannot keep you waiting and must drop the order. I would hope that their follow-up mailing offering the item again means that they now have stock and are able to ship again.

Haven't ordered from them, haven't tried the product, but hate to see a company get blasted for following the law.

If that is the reason it would be an idea for them to let people know that. I would think plenty of people are not aware of that law. If people have a reason for why things are not how they expected them to be they are generally much more tollerent. We all know things happen but a note on one of the postcards saying "We are sorry to have to cancel your order but by law we are not allowed to keep you waiting for an ordered product for more than X weeks. We have for now cancelled your order but will advise of when the stock is back and you can re-order" could have covered it.

I called the Customer Service # on the post cards.

What a %^&*$#@ joke. tapedshut.gif

The taped message STILL cites a 6-8 week delivery time, so NO, I doubt that they have stock available for sale or shipping.

The message starts with, "Due to heavy calling demands....." DUH, wonder WHY?????

The message concludes with, "If you still need to speak with an agent, stay on the line." The line rings twice AND HANGS UP FROM THEIR END icon_eek.gif

Sorry, no good excuses here.

I finally received the pans. They are heavy and I can't wait to use them. I've been busy and now sick. I hope to use them this coming weekend.

Well, it took a long time. A few months at least. I don't think they were prepared for the amount of response and were overwhelmed. I finally have the time tomorrow to try them out. I will let you know how they turn out.

I've heard that those types of products. As seen on TV, etc will not start production of the item until they have a certain number of orders in hand. If they don't hit their numbers by a certain date, they cancel the orders.

Interesting.

I saw another thread here last night--don't have th link, but it's in the Cupcake forum--and someone else got their pans.
They're very unhappy because the cakes are light enough that they're not holding onto the chocolate covered sticks icon_confused.gif

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Rae

I didn't see this site before I ordered my pans so I was a little upset. I ordered them last week and I thought "oh boy I'm not going to see them until march!" Well I got an email from them today saying that they already shipped the pans and will be here in 7-10 days! We will see. I will keep you all updated.

They're 2 part pans, so you received 8 pieces all together??

Yes it's the same pans but it's a different company that sells them.
