I've been asked to create a baby shower cake to serve 32...but here's the kicker: it's for sisters due at the same time with TWO very different personalities AND TWO different color schemes; one is pink and brown (it's a girl and baby #2), the other Dark Blue and Yellow (first time Mom and very new wave). How can I make a single cake coordinate with these 2 schemes?? And ideas? Please help!

I saw a cake not long ago, might have been on CC, that was done for a boy twin and a girl twin. It was a two tiered cake, one side done for the girl and the opposite side for the boy. Almost like someone took a string and divided a room down the middle for feuding siblings, lol. It was really cute!

Do you have to make just one cake or just that this would be easier for those having the shower? I would personally see if I could make two different cakes each with their own color scheme. That would be what I would do. to me it would be easier in the long run. If not, then I would get on the search enging and look up baby shower cakes with these colors and see if there are any that just shout out "I am the one" you want to do. I know that there is a gallery of babyshower cakes on here maybe you could start on that gallery and see. It might be easier. Best wishes. Let us know what you do. Maybe even a pic.?

A couple of options - you could do a large sheet cake, square cake or round cake and do half for one sister and half for the other. You could also do a tiered cake, and let one tier be for one sister and one for the other.

Or you can speak with the organizers and see if you can do two smaller cakes - one for each sister so that it can truly reflect each mom's personalities without the colours conflicting....

If they are stuck on doing just a single cake, some of the ideas that come to mind is picking out two of the colours (like brown and yellow) and just adding pink and blue accents (like flowers, or baby accessories etc.)

You could also carve out a Onesie from one larger cake and decorate half for one baby and half for the other.

I've also seen a lot of people just do opposite sides of one larger cake.

When I'm stuck in a rut like this, I usually just throw out a few ideas to the customer and ask them to finalize what they like.

Thanks to everyone for great ideas...woke up my 'creative genes' anyway!
The client did request a small stacked cake with the color schemes that I mentioned earlier; but the rest she's leaving up to me. I have thoughts of polka dots and stripes on the different tiers; but really like the idea of dividing the whole cake in half as suggested here. I did labor through the baby shower gallery here before posting this thread...not much help there I'm afraid! But again, thanks so much, everyone's been a huge help here knew I could count on you!
