Does anyone have a good Rice Krispie Treat recipe? I looked under recipes and didn't come up with anything. I figured the recipe would be on the jar of marshmallow creme or on the Rice Krispie bag, but it isn't. I just thought that would be a good afternoon thing to do with my daughter today.

here's one from the marshmellow company i use:
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 pkg. (10-1/2 oz.) JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
6 cups crisp rice cereal

MELT butter in large saucepan on low heat. Add marshmallows; cook until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
ADD cereal; mix well.
PRESS firmly into greased 13x9-inch pan. Cool completely. Cut into 24 squares to serve.

Thanks guys! I went out and bought a jar of the JetPuffed Marshmallow creme, thinking that that is what I remembered putting in there years ago, so maybe I will try substituting that for the marshmallows. I will let you know if it turns out alright or if it is a huge flop! But thanks for the recipes!!!!!

Ok, you CAN't substitute Marshmallow Creme for marshmallows in Rice Krispie Treats. Well, you can, but they don't get firm. Sure makes for a nice little "crumbly" treat though. I am sure it won't go to waste!

I just wanted to add that whenever I make rice krispy treats I add about 1/3 cup peanut butter. Add it just after the marshmallows are melted; stir until well blended then add the cereal. They are so good!!!

You can add, top, spread, create ANYTHING with Krispie Treats!! And now, obviously, you can shape our cakes with them!
Off topic, have any of you ever bought the cereal of Rice Krispie Treats? The top layer has the krispie treats as you open the box! Yummmm!! It wasn't until my kids opened a box by themselves that they found it.....I'm so bad about them that I'd open the box and eat the treats on top and then give them the cereal. What a bad mom I am! But, yummmmm!

Don't get me wrong, these weren't just plain old rice krispie treats. I added chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and chopped pecans. YUMMMMMMMM!
