Hi,
Let me start off by saying, this is NOT my cupcake shop and nothing to do with me! But I just had to share this story near where I live (Cardiff, United Kingdom)

Please read this and imagine this is your cupcake shop, that you have had open for just 2 months!
I would live to hear people's thoughts! (This happened a while ago)

This is why I hate most people... LOL.

I read about this a while back and was appauled. It's like that crazy beyotch who punched the worked in the McDonalds drive through because it was too early to buy chicken nuggets.

Some people kids right?

Wow! If I ever open up a shop, I think I'll be keeping a big roller behind the counter just in case!

Oh my goodness! That is so scary! I have a favorite cupcake (besides my own lol) and I always just call ahead and they'll either save me some or make me some new ones so they're available when I arrive. Definately could have been handles 1000x better! lol

And can you imagine her poor children? They were probably wondering wth just happened to mommy! lol

That's just sad. I bet she thought it was acceptable behavior too. I would have beat her for breaking my stuff and assaulting my customers with glass and cupcakes.

ha Judging by some of the comments on other threads on this site lately I can totally see people "losing it" and snapping.

Yeah and I agree...I feel bad for her poor kid(s) because if this is the behavior they're seeing growing up, they'll end up just like her. shudder....

There's a lot of crazy in this world...unstable crazy and you never know who will snap next. lol

LOL I love the UK. I am totally moving there. Notice how the description given of the woman was "well-built." I prefer well-built to fat. LOL!

Hi everyone,
Glad you enjoyed the story, although I feel bad for the poor owner! icon_sad.gif Open just 2 months!!

I can't help but find it happy though, because I know the area!
Wouldn't it have been funny if they had differently described the woman,
this is my version,

"She is described as white, aged 35-45, with shoulder length strawberry blonde hair, a local acsent, 5ft 3 inchs, well built or "on the large side" and probably with a "muffin top" Do not approach this woman, and for goodness sake don't mention cupcakes!!"

Crikey!!

Edited to add: they dont have the cupcake she smashed the place up for as one of their regular flavours... or maybe they changed the menu for security reasons? http://www.sugarswirlzcupcakery.co.uk/#!__menu

@Jennifer353,
I also noticed this on their website! icon_eek.gif
The cake in question was callled "sweet tooth fairy cake" this is it,
http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=sweet+tooth+fairy+cake&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=603&tbm=isch&tbnid=eJh070UHni7WXM:&imgrefurl=http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/2011/03/03/police-hunt-for-cupcake-rage-woman-after-shop-wrecked-91466-28271612/2/&docid=2TTZkiaif3VYcM&w=450&h=288&ei=j9dLTovIDI2xhAfph5HyBw&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=406&page=1&tbnh=119&tbnw=186&start=0&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0&tx=116&ty=51

It was described as not for the faint hearted, and delivers one hell of a sugar rush! Its covered in multi coloured buttercream as high as the cupcake and is covered in candy floss!!

She was probably after her sugar fix!
If this is how it effects people, maybe its too dangerous to sell! icon_lol.gif

I didn't even know what they meant bu well-built - I thought they meant she had a hot body! lol

I know it must have been a scary situation, but I don't feel bad for the owner - you can't PAY for that kind of publicity! I WISH that would happen to me. I'd start a whole marketing campaign on it. Imagine if everyone knew you had cupcakes worth going ballistic over!

@KoryAK

Haha! believe me, being described as being "Well Built" isn't a compliment over here! icon_lol.gif

Yeah, I think it was great publicity, on their website there's a section called "what the newspapers say" and its all about the cake rage woman!
Mind you though I think they have made a mistake because they appear to have removed the cupcake in question from their menu! icon_confused.gif

KoryAK, other things to look out for aswell, the woman had shoulder length blonde hair, was wearing a green coat and had two kids with her, so if you see her coming hid under the counter! icon_lol.gif

I have to walk past this shop every day and believe me - you definitely can't pay for that kind of publicity!! They have benefited so much although absolutely nobody should ever have to deal with that sort of nonsense at work and I bet the girls were quite shaken after it.
It is sad that someone could kick off in such a royal way over something so insignificant as a cake though. I mean, I know we put a lot of sweat and tears into what we do and I suppose in some ways it could be considered flattering that she liked the cake so much she thought it was worth having a tantrum over but at the end of the day it is just cake!!

I am gonna bring mine to your shop again, though, Kory. We stopped by when we first got here, and I was gonna say hi, but you were SO busy. You were with someone, and you still had 2 women waiting to talk to you. We bought a half dozen cupcakes - YUUUM icon_smile.gif
