Can someone tell me what they use to paint onto fondant, do you use liquid food colouring or edible pens can you dilute gel food colouring and use that???

Thanks in advance

I think the best thing to use is gel food colouring diluted with a little alcohol or rose spirit. It dries very quickly and doesn't adversely effect your fondant. Edible pens are ok for small areas that are already dry but I have experienced them running in humid weather - this may just be the brand that I have though? Hope that helps!

I 'paint' on my cakes quite often, I've been succesful at using liquid food colors, like Americolors, and I also use my air brush colors... I have also used powdered food colors with some vodka!! never had a problem!!

I prefer to use air brush colors.
