so having read all these wonderful things about this product, I ran out to Kohls the other night & picked one up. Just got done trying it out & ..... I don't know. Theyre small & not a full round ball like in the pics. Tried using more batter but no, just a mess. Then I tried turning after a couple minutes & it did a LITTLE better but I don't know that I'm sold. Not big enough or round enough to me.....anybody else not sure about theirs?
There is a huge thread on here about the Babycakes cakepop maker..You may find some of the results useful there...Search the threads by asking babycakes and see what pops up...
I found that if I put the batter in the fridge for 20 minutes or so (already in the piping bag) then piped the batter into the cavity bringing it up some like the tip of an ice cream cone (trying to give a visual here.. lol) then the part that was sticking up gets caught in the top cavity when you close the lid and you get a full round ball. Hope that helps. I love mine.
I took mine back today Balls are just too small for my liking. Ordered a diff one on amazon tonight that makes 7 larger balls...hopefully it'll work.
I didn't like mine either. Used it twice, the 2nd time was just to confirm. It will kindly be donated. Doesn't even compare to hand made cakeballs.
They were too small to waste a stick on in my opinion. Would be cute for kids or finger snacks...
