Hi all! I am going to be doing dummy cakes for the first time for a display on a bulletin board. I was wondering if they should be iced in royal icing or butter cream. I have heard butter cream takes longer to get harder on dummy cakes. How long should I be expecting them to get hard enough to put on the board? I would appreciate any information that I can get!! Thanks in advance!!

I havent used royal but I have used buttercream. I never had a problem with it. I guess it depends on your recipe. But I am sure it will take longer to fully harden than royal. Really since it is for a display and shouldn't get touched then it shouldnt matter too much? But I'd say go with what you prefer to work with.
