the pictures are pretty self-explanatory, but there are step-by-step directions in the captions. if you need any extra help just pm me on here and i'll do my best to guide you through
Thanks for sharing this. I can't seem to access the page though. I keep getting an error message - The JavaScript for this page failed to load correctly. Such a bummer cause I would love to see this.
Yep, looks like you figured it out, congratulations! This is such a beautiful technique, thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for the tutorial! I have a question though why did you make your billows out of gumpaste won't it harden? And I wonder if I would get the same results using fondant?
babs, i was working on a dummy cake so i used gp so the billows wouldn't break when i moved it across the state lol! and in all actuality, i was low on gp so i mixed it 50/50 with homemade mmf they did harden, i guess fondant would work too? my main concern was not being able to roll fondant thin enough (if they're too heavy i don't think they'd hold up well). maybe someone could try it and let everyone know how it works (my school load is super heavy this week lol)
Wow thank you for the tutorial.... Beautiful and kudos to you for pulling off a cake that beautiful in one night alone!
Thank you for taking the time to get step-by-step photos! I confess I had no idea what billowing was, but am impressed - so simple, but very effective! Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for sharing I am going to try this...I also saw your cake at the show and I loved it very well done! Did you win any prizes?
Oh, thanks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for the photos. I sort of "got it" but was curious about a few things. tysm!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing. The photo tutorial is wonderful, and your cake is beautiful!!
WOW! I have never seen this technique & I was so taken in by this beautiful way to decorate a cake! Thank you so much for posting your tutorial to share with everyone. I can't wait to have a cake that I can try this on.
I haven't been here on this site for a while because of school and some bug I figured was going on with the site, but I decided to drop by today!
Yeah! I have used this technique before and it is exactly the way the OP's tutorial shows, except sometimes I use an ova or roundl cutter out of laziness. You can get a variety of lovely effects when you emboss the fondant before you make the little pouches! I haven't loaded any pictures in a while, but I will soon, as soon as this term is over! In two weeks! can't wait!
Sharon, I bet the imbossing of the fondant first is really stunning with this technique. I can't wait to see your pictures when you get a chance to post them.
Your tutorial is AWESOME! Thank you for posting and sharing this info!
Can't wait to try this...let's see, whose b-day is coming up... think, think, think
Thanks so much! I thought it was more difficult, but your tutorial is pretty easy to follow.
