Hello cookie makers!
As we discussed last month, and at Bobwonderbuns request as the first poster for the January theme, the February 2011 Cookie Club theme is dresses.
That means that ANY cookies you make related to that theme fits Have fun creating!!!
Just to refresh your memory (and for any new members), here are the "guidelines" for the cookie club posts (based on Cake_Princess' original post from a few years ago):
*Anyone can join us any month they choose! We love to have new members! This isnt a contest, just a way to share ideas, be creative, and learn new things related to cookies!!
* The group consensus was that all pictures must be new pictures (and new cookies). Meaning if you have a previous pictures of cookies already in your album (or in the forum) even if it depicts the theme, please do not use them for your entry in the cookie club. The idea of the monthly theme is to get our creative juices/new ideas flowing.
* Please post pictures in this thread (Do not create a separate thread for your pictures). ** in cases where there are technical difficulties with the CC site, it is OK to post your pictures in your photos on CC and put the link in the thread.
* Please wait to post monthly theme cookies to your personal album/ cookie Gallery until after the monthly theme has expired (the end of the month). I know you are anxious for everyone to see your cookies in your album, but keeping the monthly theme creations in only the thread for the entire month helps to increase traffic to the cookie club thread, which will help to keep it going and hopefully get more people interested in taking part. When the month is over, please feel free to post as many pictures as you wish to the galleries. We do love to see pictures!! (** unless technical difficulties prohibit us from attaching pictures directly in the thread)
* Feel free to use any edible medium to decorate your cookies - fondant, royal icing, butter cream etc. The only stipulation is it has to be a medium used in cookie or cake decorating (so no play-doh!). In your post, please let us know about your creation the type of cookie, the medium you used to decorate your cookies, any techniques that you used, etc.
* The purpose of choosing a monthly theme is to have a central theme for everyone participating to follow in order to allow us an opportunity to be creative, try new things, and learn from each other. Please try to follow the monthly theme. If the design choice is not obvious, please let us know why you chose the design you did (for example, if the theme was Music and you made ghost cookies then let us know the connection. Ghost = Phantom and Phantom of the opera > music).
* The theme is chosen at the beginning of each month by the first person to post a picture the previous month. That person should PM Bonniebakes with your theme choice before the month is over so that the new thread can be started on the 1st of the month (or within a day or two from the 1st).
Happy Baking, everyone! I cant wait to see the results!!
Oh goodie goodie goodie!!! This is one of my favorite cookie ideas -- dress cookies totally lend themselves to creativity!!!! Come on people, let's see that talent!!!
What a great idea!! I want to participate for the first time I will be making baby dresses for a girl-babyshower....but not till 2 weeks though, is that ok?
That's awesome Rosie!! You have the entire month of February to post them. I can't wait to see!!

Ahhh, thank you! I'm making them as we speak
Hello ladies, help! I'm ready to add my cookie pics here, but I can't!! Does anyone know the size to add a pic here in this thread?? is it 700pix? I know the size of the pics that we add in our gallery are big,1500pix so I reduced my cookie pics to 700pix and it still won't let me add it here

There is a site-wide problem with posting pix in the threads that has been going one for a while now. The cookie club has altered the rules to accommodate this by allowing members to post the cookies in their gallery and posting a link to it here in the cookie club thread. I'm looking forward to seeing your pix!!

Ohhh, thank you Bobwonderbuns, I was wondering what happened. I will post then and bring the link here.
Ok, here's my first entry to the cookies club
ll try to put more description here. Dress cookies are NFSC with almond flavor added. Glace icing, fondant accents and I used my favorite First Impression molds for the bows and tiny roses. Two different Martha Stewart punches for the heart lace and the doily lace (I think that's what is called ) I made the label in Publisher, paper from The Paper Zone, and colored staples from Michaels. The cookies were a hit with the Momma-to-be
If you have any questions please let me know

Ok ladies, bring your dress cookies!
BTW, I also made girl-monkey cookies for the same babyshower, but those are not dresses so I won't post after the month is over.
Finally someone posted!
I made these along with my Valentines cookies! But didn't want to be the first one to post!

Those are great!!! How did you do the lace -- punch out fondant strips?
Hello Bobwonderbuns and yes the lace is punch out fondant strips. I just roll my fondant very thin, let it dry a bit and then pass it through the punch. It's a little tricky since it breaks every other time, but overall it works

Those are gorgeous Cookiemama2 I love them!!
May I ask why you didn't want to be the first one to post? is there a catch I should know? LOL
I didn't want to pick it!
I was trying to think of something I'd love to try or see ...
Most months I don't join in but I LOVE to see what everyone comes up with!
Geez, I feel so out of the loop!!!! I haven't received any e-mails about the Cookie Club since about November, so I assumed it had kind of petered out. Now, I see that it's still up and running and I've missed seeing months worth of awesome creations. I'm glad to be back!!!!

Love the entries so far!!
I've got a dress to add.
I did a few that I really liked the designs of, but the icing didn't work well (wasn't smooth) - so I only took pictures of this one....

Bonniebakes, Cookiemama2, and Rosie2, I love all of your dress cookies! It's funny that each style is so different from the other, but they all look amazing! Great job!
nice designs everyone!
ooh. i forgot about it. i sketched my design ideas at the beginning of the month, and then plum forgot about it. well, i know what i'll be doing this weekend.
thanks! I tried to salvage a couple of my other designs... we'll see how they turn out.
I love this dresses theme - I can't wait to see more cookies!
If I have time before the end of the month I'll practice with my other dress cutters won't promisse anything though LOL
Party dresses - Sugar cookies covered in marshmallow fondant, embossed with spiral scrolls and painted with pearl dust. I use some gum paste and nonpareils for the details. Hope you like them. I can wait for next month theme.
Rosie2 I love your baby gowns, the details are exquisite, muy hermosos !!!
Cookiemama2 Your wedding dresses are amazing, how you make the roses and those ruffles? Is royal icing, what tip you use?
Bonniebakes your dress is so stunning that I hope it fit me and I love the color.
Beautiful cookies newintown!
The dresses are royal with tip 103 I think. The roses are just strips of fondant rolled up. I'm sure I learned them from CC and I think they are called ribbon roses.
