I am making a 50th anniversary cake for 2 weeks from tonight. I am using a really pretty topper that is kind of like their original with satin bells. So I was going to go with a bell theme on the cake. I bought some cute cutters but they did not work out. Patchwork cutters to time consuming and very difficult to work with. Got some bell moulds cannot make them work. Need to incorporate some gold. I am panicky right now. Anyone that can help me I would be so grateful.

bostonterrierlady... first, take a deep breath!! Think, you have 2 weeks to work out the problems you are facing. You have lots of time, especially you have CC thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

So, I will check in the info that I have and see if I have anything for bells, I think I do>>> the only thing is that I have so many documents and it is not in a very good order but I think I might be able to help. I know for sure that you are in the right place for help, if I can not, somebody else might be able to do it. So, take it easy , get everything else ready. Will be back later on sunday if I find the info, OK? Cross your fingers! icon_smile.gif

boston terrierlady... In my photo gallery there is a wedding cake, which I did not baked, my friend baked it and made the marzipan to covered it. I did everything else. stacked it, made the decorations and decorated it.
Over here the silicon molds for the seashell were very expensive, so I asked my teacher if I could use the chocolate molds, since they are so much cheaper!! and she said yes!! icon_lol.gif I was very happy because there is a BIG diference in price! icon_eek.gificon_eek.gif So I made all the decorations that you see on that cake with chocolate molds. I use MMF with tylose, dusted the molds with powder sugar and filled it with my mixture. some of the shells are hollow, I made them like that because I thought they were a little heavy for the top tiers, but it does not matter. I sticked it with gumpaste glue. I am sending you some links for some CHOCOLATE BELL MOLDS that is what they are called but you can use any sugar medium that you want, gumpaste, marzipan, mexican paste even the chocolate. I painted all the decorations with non-toxic chalks.(my teacher showed me how to)

Also another thing, how do you want to place it, if it is around the cake, this will work fine. If you want a topper I would tell you to buy a bell, the size that you need or like and use it as a mold. You either cover it with saran wrap or crisco, or sugar powder I do not know which one would be better, and covered it with gumpaste, as if you are covering a cake. Give it a few days to dry, unmold and painted gold. I hope this helps!! icon_smile.gif
Good luck thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif Here are the links
