I checked with Michaels in Hickory, NC and they said they didn't have any. Clerk couldn't confirm a price.

It's being discontinued. Rumor has it there's a better one about to be released, and smaller.

I just called 8 stores within a 100 mile radius and no one has one in stock and certainly not for $99.00. One clerk actually told me they don't carry them at all, that it was just a special promotion when they came out. One store offered to order me one, but at the price of $599.00 icon_rolleyes.gif

It seems like no one is carrying the Cricut Cake anymore. I know there is a new Cricut Cake Mini that is on the market now which apparently sells for $199.00, but because I own the original "red" machine and have noticed the gradual "disappearance" of machines and supplies from the stores I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to buy any accesories. So I e-mailed Provocraft and asked the question about being able to buy mats, blades, etc. because of the machine being discontinued and the response that came back was that the machine HAS NOT been discontinued...period. icon_confused.gif So is it just Michael's that is no longer carrying everything related to the Cricut Cake?

I am sending another e-mail to ask why no one has any machines or related supplies now, and if they do have any stock they seem to be clearing them out? Also, who might still be stocking accesories at least for those of us who have the original machine. (Will post if any response comes back.)

I live in Illinois and I did buy the Cricut Cake tonight for $99. Also all the Accessories were 70% off. I got about $500 worth of product for $136.00. Michaels will not be carrying in anymore. As far as I know Hobby Lobby will continue to carry it.

AC Moore still carries all of the cake supplies, but at regular prices, nothing discounted like reported here tonight.

my husband told me he called all the michaels in our state and not one had a cricut at that price and very few had one at all, and it was still the reg. retail price. The new one coming out is martha stewart. It is white. I saw it on e bay for 588.88. The mini I saw at Jo Anns and it sells for 199.99 but the day after thanksgiving it is on sale for 99.99.

Very odd...because they were for sale here for that. In fact, while I was buying mine a lady from New Jersey called looking to buy it over the phone. But I got the last one.

About a week and a half ago I read in another post that some people had found them for $149 at Micheals, so I called about five different stores in my area. Three were completely out of the machine. One had heard anything about them being discounted and said they were $399. One store had one left at $149, which I bought. I know someone else who wants one, so after reading this, I called the store that had said they were $399, and she said they are $99, but when I asked how many they had in stock, she came back and said they didn't have any left. Honestly, though, after playing with the machine a little bit, I would prefer to have the smaller that they now sell at Joann's (and that will be on sale for $99 on Black Friday). The big one is so big and more difficult to drag out. Plus I don't have much extra storage space, so it's just been sitting on my kitchen table for the last week until I figure out where to put it.

Yes it is, check out www.bfads.net and look at the JoAnn's ad. I searched all the ads for "cricut" and quite a few places have cricut items

it looks like it may be on the bottom of page two under the expression. it's cut off in the picture. I saw the list of what's on sale (thanks cakearator!), but not the actual ad.

Since my area seems to not follow the rest of the world at times, I called my local JoAnn's and while the woman couldn't confirm that they would have the cricut cake mini for $99 (her response, "I'm not actually allowed to give you that information"), she did say they follow the standard ads and if I saw a black Friday ad online, it's probably very accurate.

I will probably be at my JoAnns bright and early next Friday, lol.

Thanks so much for posting this! I just called all the stores in my area and one of them had it for $99! I'm on my way to pick it up!

And all the Michaels stores did say it was being discontinued in THEIR stores, but not anywhere else. So all the accessories will still be available elsewhere. I had seen them on sale (either 50% or more off) a while back but since I didn't have the machine I didn't get any. Man, if only I could have seen into the future!

i suspect Michaels will carry the Martha Stewart version once they get rid of all the red ones. and all the accesories will be MS too. I stocked up on blades and got a water brush, but stupid things just leaks and nothing comes out of the brush. glad i didn;t pay 10 bucks for that!

Hopefully if Michael's carries the Martha Stewart version all the accessories will be useable on the old red one. Sad to call the red one "old" when it hasn't even been around that long! We don't have JoAnn stores or Hobby Lobby in Canada, so I don't know where else to buy any extras to go with the machine if Michael's won't be carrying anything. icon_sad.gif
