I'm going to be attending a bridal show where I can bring cake samples. I need advice on the best way to do this and how much to prepare. The show is predicting 700 brides. I'm not sure if I should just do sheet cakes and cut on site or get mini cups and prescoop cake in prior to the show. Thanks for the help. Michele

When I did a bridal fair with samples I baked the cake in a jelly roll pan. That way I just iced the whole sheet and then cut them to fit into a very a small souffle cup. I purchased sample spoons and had napkins.
We had about 300 people come through and I prepared 500 samples. Only had a few left.

Hi,
I just helped my friend do a bridal show and she just cut cakes into bite size pieces and put them into those tiny plastic cups including a dab of buttercream and a dab of filling then put the lids on and even labeled them so people knew what they were eating. She put spoons out too.

Everyone commented on how nice it was to taste all the flavors and not to have to pick something up on a napkin with their hands.

If they are predicting 700 brides, you won't have time to cut pieces of cake at the show AND talk to brides. Put them in the cups.

i put 1"x1"x1" cubes (yes, those are bigger than you think!) into the small plastic cups, THEN I put a blop of icing on top while they were in the cups. Add a lid and I'm done.

I quickly got into the flow and was able to hand a cup of cake with a fork to brides B and C while still talking to bride A. (of course I love a stage and a microphone and am TOTALLY at home talking to crowds of people!) I kept them in a bussing tub behind my display table, within easy reach.

Thanks for the help. One more question, where did you find the little cups with the lids?

I bought my souffle cups and lids at GFS. Not sure if Sams has any.

I use the souffle cups. They are great because folks can even throw them in their purse to try at home! I even put a sticker on each one that has my name and website on it (along with the cake flavor, icing, etc). I bought mine at Party City, but there is an online retailer that sells them by the case at a better deal (even with shipping). http://www.webstaurantstore.com/
