Hey gang,

I really want to make the Banana Cake, but I'm not sure what filling I should use. I was thinking maybe a Ganache, but I also want to do Italian Meringue BC and I wonder if that might be too heavy. This is for a baby shower.

Any suggestions?

Strawberry goes great with banana, think about the icecream. You could still ice the cake in ganache. Chocolate, banana and strawberry, ummmm.

I think ganache and banana cake go well together. I also like banana and caramel or banana mousse or banana pastry cream, then iced in ganache. Or how about whipped cream as the filling? I personally love IMBC, but I never use it as a filling. I'm sure lots of folks do though.

I have a banana walnut cake that I fill with ganache and strawberry puree and then ice with caramel SMBC, it's like a banana spilt in your mouth so yummy...

Thanks for the ideas girls. Maybe I'll do Fresh Strawberries and a Chocolate pastry cream.
