First of all, I have to assure you I don't work for this company, nor do I get a 'cut' for 'good-mouthing' them, but it might sound like it!

Anyone who is looking to order boxes for their biz, if you do not already use www.brpboxshop.com you should really consider it. Not just because they have a quality product at a great price (and always free FAST shipping to the lower 48 states!) but because they are NICE people. They are a small company, and they CARE about customers!

Normally when I order something, if I order early in the day, I most often get my packages the NEXT day! But, I realized I was out of some boxes that I needed the same day, so I decided to drive to their shop as I have done on a few other occasions. (It's only 45 minutes from me, and a good excuse to go see my brother.) They are always incredibly polite, friendly, and accomodating when I stop by, but this trip was better than usual! One of the ladies in the office even remembered my name, first and last, from the very few times I've been there! While they were getting the order ready, their 'tech wizard' saw me waiting and invited me into his office to see how new boxes are designed, and the prototypes cut on this very impressive machine. We talked a little bit about the boxes, and the benefits of small businesses in general, and I was completely impressed with his outlook. I firmly believe that those types of employees are what make a company successful!

I have praised their products and services in the past, but since new people are always joining us here on CC, and because right this minute someone may be wondering where they could get the products BRP has to offer, I thought I'd sing my song again!! thumbs_up.gif

I also encourage any of you who do cookies to check out the single cookie boxes with die-cut shapes. I personally have the shamrocks, the hearts, and the circles, and they are ADORABLE! Oh, as well as the boxes and inserts for single and double cupcakes. I can't tell you how big of a smile I get from people when I include one or two free cupcakes in a special package as their 'Thank You' for their order. Something to treat themselves, or to give as a gift. They EAT IT UP, literally!

Love, love, LOVE them too!!!! Wishing that shipping/customs wasn't so expensive to Canada, but those boxes aren't feather light when there's 100 in a box! If I could order all my boxes/boards at the same time, I would be in heaven! Their customer service is TOP NOTCH and the product is second to none!

Thanks for sharing. I have been gearing up to clear space to store boxes in bulk and have had my eye on this company. I was worried about their quality without being able to see the boxes before ordering. I feel much better now!

Well see, if I helped ONE person, it was worth posting!! party.gif

And I'm glad that so many other people adore them as well. We'll insure that they keep busy creating new shapes, sizes, and products for us high maintenance bakers!! We love new stuff.

I have to say, their silver covered cake boards... the BOMB! I used to have trouble when I bought the ones from Sams Club... if I did an edible image, you could only pick up the cake by sliding your hand under the middle of the board. If you picked it up on the sides the image would bend and wrinkle. FRUSTRATING! The silver cake boards at BRP are so strong and awesome! They don't bend, and the silver foil is beautiful!

Ok seriously... maybe I SHOULD be on their payroll! Hahaha!

I couldn't agree more! BRP's quality and customer service is fabulous! We've had other suppliers provide us with samples of their boxes and they didn't come close.

They aren't the cheapest, but they are by far the best!

Melvira, how did you get the name on the front of the box? Is that a sticker or is it printed on there?

I LOVE that company too!

LOL. One of us is confused! It might be me! Melvira is singing the praises of brpboxshop (Big River Packaging). The label on the box is her company, I believe. I didn't want you to be confused and try to order boxes from the wrong place. I may have misunderstood though - if so, I'm sorry!!

Yes, the label on the front of the box is just a sticker that I put on all my boxes with my company info on them. I just print sheets of return address labels for smaller boxes, and mailing labels for larger boxes. I like doing it that way because if I feel like changing my lable once in a while, I don't have thousands of them to use first! But BRP also makes boxes in custom colors, etc. It costs a little more for obvious reasons, but you should see how cool the colored boxes look! I love the red ones!

And yes Tracy, no more foil!! These are so professional looking because they are done with a machine, and it's not just ugly old aluminum foil... it's this beautiful 'holographic' foil. (But it's not loud or overbearing) I believe it comes in gold too, but I like silver. They have lots of different options for the boards... you can get the ones I've talked about with holographic foil, or you can get some that have sort of a matte gold finish, or white, etc. There are options in all the different price ranges. I have a few of everything I think!!

I also just noticed that they will now ship you samples to check out their product. Which is nice b/c there are a couple of things that I have been wanting to see, but haven't made it up to their office.

here is a direct link to their sample page. They just charge you shipping.

Melvira, I too adore big river packaging! I am just starting up a cake/cupcake buisness and ordered cupcake boxes and insert from them. I couldn't believe that they didn't charge shipping! And them when I received them the next day.....I just about passed out!!! I never get shipments that quick! (I live in Indiana btw). I'll have to check out their boards. Can't wait!!!

I know, that floored me when UPS showed up the next day after the first time I ordered from them. I mean, I know I'm less than an hour away, but they have to process your order and your payment method, pack your order, contact UPS for shipping, and then UPS has to do all of their stuff. I felt like they hired some guy just for me... to pull what I wanted and quickly drive it over to my place, ya know? It was awesome. Now obviously, not everyone is going to get it next day, and there may be times that they are extra busy and I won't even get it that quickly, but while it IS happening, I'm going to do a little cake-dance!

So excited to hear this! I live about 3 hours away from them, and have had the worst luck finding cake boxes locally. They're all thin and flimsy and such a waste of money! Definitely planning on getting some samples- does anyone know what payment methods they accept, I can't find it on the site?

the shipping to Canada is killer, but I can't find another box company that does it as well as BRP. I just suck it up and pay the extra. It's well worth it!

LOL! I just figured that out! I think it's me! For whatever reason I reading fast and thought she was saying that I should use Big River Packaging which I didn't realize was BRPboxshop.

I wish there was a dumb emoticon. That would work well right now. But since there's not - how's this one.

Another happy BRP customer here too! I ordered smaller bakery boxes for cookies in the past and I just received their cupcake inserts today. I can't wait to use them! Unfortunately I tried to pinch pennies and got the 10x14 boxes elsewhere. Now I have to fiddle with the inserts just to get them in and the lid is difficult to close. Not BRP's fault, I'm not thrilled with the boxes in general. Next time I will happily pay the difference and get everything from Big River Packaging! I emailed them with a question and within about ten minutes had four different people reply. Now THAT'S service! (or a slow morning! icon_lol.gif)

A note on samples, if you are making an order and want to see samples of other items, as long as your samples fit in the box they will include them with your order, no charge. Just state the item numbers in the comments section of the order form and if they won't fit with the order they will email you. Since there is no shipping charge it doesn't change anything to order stuff individually.

Love Love Love them! Have been using them for almost a year now! I'm in Mo just south of St Louis and have ALWAYS gotten my orders 2 days from the order date. Customer service IS fabulous and I'm so glad that others out there know how great this company is! I've just used them for boxes and cupcake inserts so tell me a little bit more about these boards Mel! Do you just use them on the bottom of your cakes or use them between tiers too?

Both! They come in all different sizes of square, round, sheet, etc. They are quite strong. There are different levels of expense associated with the different types of course. There are plain white cardboard that is strong but not necessarily pretty, you'd use those between tiers. Then there are ones that are like cardboard with a slick paper on them in gold (not sure if they have silver in that style, I should go check!) Then there are the ultimate holographic foil ones that look amazing as your bottom board with edge showing. I suppose holographic might not be the right description. It's not like they shoot off rainbows and you have to wear special glasses, it's just that really pretty textured foil-type paper. If you click on my website you can see lots of examples of cakes on them. Or you can just go look at the real deal on their website! But sometimes it's nice to see how it looks with someone's cake on it, so feel free to use me for that if you should so desire.

I have thought about taking some treats in to them because they are just the nicest people ever. You know, just a little something to tell them thanks for the great work, and keep it up! It seems like, as much as we all hold ourselves accountable to our customers, there are some companies out there that care about a buck, not an ongoing relationship. BRP is NOT that kind of place. I guess that's why I'm really into buying from them. I may not be their biggest customer (by a LONGSHOT!!) but they have NEVER treated me that way. Always like I'm the most important customer in their computer. Like I said, I was floored that the gal in the office knew me by name. That was flattering!

One of the coolest things about them is that if they don't have it, just ask. They will try their best to create it. The majority of their evolving product line was created because someone said, "You know what I really need...?" And they LISTENED! To me, that is invaluable. It's like what I've seen here from Global Sugar Art. Someone here contacts them and says, "How on earth can I get my hands on..." and pretty soon they are carrying it. To me, THAT'S how you do business! It just makes sense. Speaking of which, BRP is now carrying some really pretty disposable cupcake stands in that same pretty silver foil. They aren't 'cheap' meaning they aren't flimsy. They are very sturdy! And yes, they cost a few bucks, but if you've ever had the headache of trying to charge a deposit, track down the stand after the customer's party, yadda yadda, then these are a godsend. Charge the customer the actual cost, or throw a couple dollars on for your trouble and buh-bye returns! Cupcakes are such the rage right now. (I adore them!)

Ok, down off the soapbox... I'm sure someone needs the wood! icon_rolleyes.gif
