Half sheet is a 12x18 (original commercial bakery pans are 18x24. Cut this in half and you have two 18x12's .... ergo "half" sheet).

If cutting in 2x2x2" pieces, then the cake would be cut in 6 rows by 9 columns = 54 pieces.

If cutting in 3x2x2" pieces, the cake would be cut in 6 rows by 6 columns = 36 servings.

Just do the math! thumbs_up.gif

okay ....stupid question but if someone doesn't want a double layered 12x18 that would normally serve 72 ...that cake would then serve half = 36?

cakemeasIam, 72?

a 12 X 18 , 4" tall, cut to yeild the standard 8 cubic inches of cake in a service will be cut 18 rows by 6 rows for 102 servings. The serving will be 1" wide by 2" deep by 4" tall. 1 X 2 X 4 = 8

If it's a 2" tall cake, then a 12 X 18 will be cut 9 rows by 6 rows to yield the standard 8 cubic inches of cake, for 54 servings. The serving will be 2" wide by 2" deep by 2" tall. 2 X 2 X 2 = 8

Really, it's just math.
