I looked thru the link for the WASC variations and didnt see one for French vanilla just plain vanilla. Does someone please have that one?
Thank you
Mindy
I use the Duncan Hines French Vanilla cake mix and you could add French Vanilla coffee creamer for all or part of the liquid. Use more vanilla or french vanilla flavoring in place of the almond flavor.
What about using the French Vanilla cake mix instead of a white mix and use only Vanilla flavor not the vanilla/Almond/butter mix?
French Vanilla was originally coined for a custard based ice cream flavor.
The only difference between Vanilla and French Vanilla cake mix is the color which is yellow instead of white because whole eggs can be used.
If you want more Vanilla flavor in your baked layer, simply add more Vanilla extract. (And for French Vanilla, you don't need to use the clear vanilla because the mix is yellow, not white.)
A nice site which explanations the different types of vanilla:
