I am attempting to cut out Minnie Mouse from fondant & nothing I have is sharp enough to give me a clean edge. Is this where a cricut comes in or is there something else I can use?
TIA!
I've been using a butter knife for some things, or the small fondant cutter (I think it's called rotary cutter??). They both seem to work pretty good. I find even if I end up with a bit of a rough edge it can easily be fixed by smoothing it with my finger.
HTH...good luck!
try rubbing a little bit of crisco on the cutter. I often use a razor edge (used for scrapbooking, but i cant think of a poper name-- its late)) but you can often smooth it out with your finger, try it with a tad of crisco on your finger to.
i use an exacto knife, they have them in wallmart or any hardware, they are thin like a pencil, and last quite awhile, i buy the extra blades, the knife is cheap, a little over 2 dollars, and it has a pointed tip to cut or the edge of the blade.
I've been using an exacto & also tried using a sharp knife but they both still seem to leave rough edges. I'm thinking maybe my fondant is too soft.
Someone told me to add a little powdered sugar to the fondant, so I'll see if that helps.
