Royal Icing Or Colorflow?

Hello, all. I just returned from my class where we learned to use royal icing and colorflow. I have a question...I will be making a tiara for my daughter's fourth birthday (not until May), and I was wondering which would be better of the two--royal icing or colorflow. Ideas, anyone? Thanks in advance!
If you are talking about a 3-D tiara, you will have to use royal icing, because color flow only works on flat surfaces.
Have you seen the gumpaste tiara on here? I love them! So that is another option for you.
As far as piping it, I'd say you could porbably use either. Most people would choose royal icing. I'd also make two just in case of breakage.
9 times out of 10 use royal icing for the color flow techingue. I don't have to do them too often, I don't always have color flow, but I always have MP on hand.
I have never just piped something with color flow, but it is very similar to royal icing, so in theory it should work out.
Color Flow is a product, but Wilton is now calling the run sugar technique color flow technique. Nothing wrong with that, but you can do just like TexaSugar has said, just thin your royal to the correct consistency and it will flow just fine (no color flow needed) I do lots of collar work and run sugar work and never use the product 'Color Flow' .
You can do the tiara with run sugar (color flow) but it will be very fragile. It will work on a curved surface, but it's tricky. I would definitely do the gumpaste if possible, if not, do the royal but the poster above is correct, make a couple in case of breakage.
I just made one with chocolate, actually Wilton candy melts. It was the easiest I've made yet. I have a picture of it in my pics. It is the purple cake with the shoe and tiara on it. I dusted it with luster dust after it set. I have also made fondant/gumpaste crowns for cakes. There are a couple of pics of those in my gallery. I'd use royal before I used color flow though.
