The two wedding cakes that I have done so far the brides have been easy going and known pretty much what cake flavor they wanted. But I have a bride now who isn't sure what flavors she wants and wants a taste testing. What is the best way to do this? I haven't done a taste testing before and also never been to one. All the advice anybody has will be greatly helpful and appreciated! Thanks!
There have been tons of threads on this subject recently. Try searching, or, if you're lucky, Jan the Link Princess will show up with about ten links to great threads.
I never call it a tasting, or a sampling or a taste-testing. I take the focus away from the free cake issue and call it a consultation with samples.
Thanks for the intro, Mensch.
Here's a pretty comprehensive thread on conducting tastings or bookings:

If you scroll down, the conducting the tasting threads are multi-linked, so there's a wealth of information....using cake sketch templates to make immediate designs based on bride's description, scheduling, what to serve, etc.
