Does anyone know how to make a rainbow coloured cake? The little boy whose cake I'm making this weekend apparently saw a picture in a magazine and has been talking repeatly about this cake. The cake itself is supposed to be mutli-coloured, no the icing or decorations. Thanks in advance for any tipsicon_smile.gif

Just use a vanilla/white cake and divide up the batter, dye each batch with a different color, then pour in the pans randomly and bake as usual. Turns out great!

I would use white cake (batter)and separate it into bowls, then color the batter whatever colors you want, leaving one white. Pour the white batter in the pan first, then put spoonfuls of the colors into the white batter, take a butter knife and swirl the colors into the white batter.

Divide your white batter and color each batch. Fill the pan by pouring the first color into the center of the pan slowly. Then, pour the next color on top of that, in the center. Continue in this way until you've poured all the batter in. Do not spread or touch the batter in the pan in any way. It will just naturally flow outward as you pour into the center.
