I did a search and didn't find this topic, so I will ask. Has anyone made a chocolate bow cake topper? I need one for a wedding cake. Someone on another site said to try chocolate clay but I don't know if it will hold its shape. Anyone?
Oh I've seen these done but have never done it myself.
You take acetate and smear on your chocolate, loop the acetate and put the two ends together to form the bow loop. You let them set up on there sides. Once all bow loops are set you remove the acetate (hope I'm spelling that right) and glue the loops together with chocolate.
That's the basic gest of it, hopefully someone can chime in with more detals.
I think these make pretty and yummy, but always thinking about making them in the summer and decide not to test it in the Texas summer.
Thank you so much for those links; they're great. That's just what I thought I had seen before, I just couldn't recall where.
I'm going to try one, and also try one made of candy clay.
Thanks again.
I hadn't really been looking for chocolate bow directions but happened upon this post. Gosh, now I am going to have to make something to use it on. It is beautiful. I suppose I could use semi sweet as well? Would the shortening need to be increased to make up the difference in cocoa butter between white and dark?
