I am making my nephew a snowboard cake for his birthday. Will have the hill with snowboarder coming down, trees, a little lake, but need to figure out a unique way to display "Happy Birthday" on the cake other than just placing the letters on the cake...any ideas? I've seen people put them in diamonds etc., but looking for any input from the masters!

Thanks
Jackie

Well I'm certainly no master, but how about using tappits? Or do hidden letters -- an "H" in a tree trunk, A in the lake, etc. Have fun with it!

Maybe you could make a banner at the top of the hill that stands with sucker sticks on each end. Kind of like the baby clothes-line cakes on here.

The finish line banner at the bottom of the hill.

Can you make some extra snowboards at the bottom of the hill, bottom side up, with "Happy" on one "Birthday" on another etc, with designs around the words?

snowmen holding placards -- 1 letter or 2 per each to spell it out.

topiary trees -- trees trimmed into letter shapes

multiple lakes -- each a different letter

snowballs in letter shapes

foot prints in the snow letters

cursive writing letters done as the tracks the skis/snowboards leave

Thank you all SO much! I have so many to choose from it will be hard to decide! Will post when it's done later this month. I hope I'm not being over ambitious on this cake and out of my league as I have never made any figures, but I have to start someplace!

Thanks again,
