The state of Georgia passed an exemption to their Food Act in October of 2008 that allows home-based baking and "low risk" food preparation for baked goods, jams, jellies etc sold at state sponsored Farmers' Markets(FMs). I bake from home for profit and lived in NC where you can, but relocated recently to ATL metro area and a friend just contacted me with this info...I verified with the Georgia Depart. of Agriculture...it's true. In an effort to stimulate the economy they are allowing baked goods to be sold at all state sponsored FMs. Just passing it on!
