Hi all,
I am in the process of getting the necessary things done to be licensed to bake from my home. I need help on how to create a portfolio, Sample pictures would be great.
Thanks,
Tammie
All my cakes are for friends and family, so I just pull up my CC photo page for them or email them the link.
The cake lady that did my first wedding cake had picture albums filled with photos of the cakes she has made. This was a whopping 10 years ago... before the internet was big. One for wedding cakes, another for grooms cakes and bachelor/bachelorette cakes, and I know she had at least one more with shower, birthday and other celebration cakes in it. I really liked this because when we sat down with her I could ask questions about specific combinations - how would the border in this picture look with the basketweave in that picture?
The lady who did my second wedding cake didn't have any pictures in her business that I saw. They were all online. She did have several dummy cakes on display though.
I would make up a bunch of dummies and get out the camera. Maybe start with a simple design and keep adding decorations to it until you have something elaborate taking pictures all along the way.
Good luck!
I just started taking pictures of every cake I sent out and then uploaded it into a file and then created a website and loaded onto there.
