I'm planning to make rectangular shaped 'treat bags' out of store-bought RKT and then I want to cover them with fondant. I'm choosing not to use cake because I'm too lazy to bake an extra square cake.

Anyways, I know that with homemade RKT it may be easier to get a smooth finish because you can mold them and shape them and smooth them as best as possible. What do I need to know about the store-bought kind? Should I just use more buttercream? A thicker layer of fondant?

How can I achieve a smooth look with store-bought RKT?

TIA!

if you don't have to shape the rkt that you bought then all you have to do is cover with b/c icing or chocolate and I use thick fondant but you can also cover twice. HTH

I actually prefer storebought because I find it easier to work with but other than that, tatorchip covered it all.

I was going to say what they both said, I use both, depending on how I feel at the time. If you are using homemade, you can crush up the krispies before you mix w/marshmallows. but the store bought ones, will most likely be the right size from the start. icon_biggrin.gif
