I want to add Oreo cookies to the batter. Is that possible? I've searched the recipe section and couldn't find anything. Do you have a good recipe?
Thanks for your help

I dont know about the batter, but you can the icing and put it between the layers, just make sure to chop them really good so the cake will be level.

In one of the recipes from "Cake Doctor - Cupcakes", she folded in about 1 1/2 cups of oreos at the end - and I'm sure that would translate well into cake also.

I added one to WASC, just crumbled them up and folded them in as the very last step. Tasted good!

chop them up and fold them in with a spatula as the last step. Also works really well in BC, just make sure you chop your cookies really small for the BC.

Ok, so when you say fold them at the end, you mean to first mix all ingredients, pour into pans then add the cookies? Is that correct?

I think you have to fold them at the end meanwhile the batters stills in your bowl then translate to the pans.

fold in to the bowl of batter before you transfer to the pans. Don't mix with the mixer, just fold in with a spoon or spatula.

absolutely! i do it all the time and it is yummy. fold into mixed batter like everyone else said. I've put the cookies it in white cake and filled it with the oreo filling that doesnt need to be refrigerated (i could eat that by itself!) and alternated the layers with a triple chocolate fudge cake. sooo good!!

i also do a variation with cupcakes -- but i will put a scoop of batter (i uses a cookie scooper), then a WHOLE oreo, then another scoop of batter to cover the top. then top with buttercream with crushed oreos mixed in it. mmm.

yep, just fold them in after it's all mixed. When it bakes the cookies get soft and become almost like chunks of chocolate cake in the white cake, but they taste like oreos...really pretty cool!
