We have received countless emails from members who have asked if they could pay a monthly fee to use cakecentral.com without seeing all the advertisements.
We are happy to announce that we are making that option available beginning today.
Now there are two ways to use Cake Central
1. FREE – Ad Supported
2. SUBSCRIPTION - $4.95 per month – No advertisements displayed.
Both types of user accounts have access to all the same great features and content, the only difference is the display of advertisements. Also Subscribers might find page load times a bit faster since they won’t have to wait for their browsers to load the advertisements.
I just wanted to put this information out there so no one panics and thinks that Cake Central has become a fee based site, or that they will miss out on content if they don’t subscribe.
Hopefully this option strikes the right balance of keeping Cake Central freely available to all who want to participate, but provides an option for those who would prefer to pay a membership than to be distracted by advertisements when using Cake Central.
If you have any problems subscribing, please use the contact page to submit a support ticket and we will help you get it sorted out.

$4.95 is

2) method of payment: Paypal? Charge Card? Debit Card? Bill Me Later? (gee don't you wish life offered a Bill Me NEVER option?) Cash via Carrier Pigeon?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't thank you enough for this option. My load times are so much faster and I'm not distracted by the ads. I'm so happy about this new feature. Can ya tell? |

Good Questions!
1. ALL major credit cards work and we are adding Google Checkout. Paypal is not accepted as they have been messing with a lot of merchant accounts recently and they charge double the transaction fees of the standard credit card processors.
2. We have been advised by legal as well as the credit card companies not to offer it as a yearly subscription because of how the chargeback process works. And also if we were to alter our offerings during the year, it would complicate things since we would technically have a binding contract for one year.
3. Yeah I know what you mean about those round numbers 
Hopefully the price is reasonable to everyone, I look at it as being equal to 1 Venti Mocha at Starbucks |

It is fantastic!! Thanks so much for offering the ad-free option!! I no longer have to avoid the right side of the screen and someone's yellow teeth and the left side of the screen for someones flabby upper arms -- I can see those in my mirror any day - any time!!LOL

Absolutely it helps CC
Cake Central is currently kept free by the advertisers paying us to show ads. This allows us to not require a membership fee to keep CakeCentral online.
The more people who opt for the subscription option, the less we are dependent upon the Online Ad Market to provide the revenues to keep growing Cake Central.
We certainly don't want anyone to feel like they have to subscribe, but for those who want to, they get the benefit of not seeing the ads, and in most cases getting the faster load times. |

Yay! Me is a happy gal! It's luverly to not have the ads! Just a quick question though - I highly doubt I would want to, but can I cancel the subscription at any time, just as easily as it was to set up?! |

My home computer will not let me access CC.it just locks up. If I go with the subscription, do you think it will allow me to access the site? Could the advertisements be what is keeping it from loading? I've just lost my internet access at work, so if I could subscribe and get CC on my home computer, I'd gladly pay twice the price! |
