I may just be dense, but when I make a wrap out of a doilie it doesn't seem to fit the cupcake very well. It sort of puckers around the top. Are the wrapper suppossed to fit snuggly at the top? I used an 8" doilie on a standard cupcake. It just seems like the curve is all wrong.
Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated.
These are awesome wrappers.
What ever happened to (Kimsmom's) cupcake collars, did she figure out a way to market them?

It became too complicated, plus another company has a similar design concept, and I just found another site starting to use cupcake "collars" as a name, ( I first used this name last year when I posted my 3-d bridal cupcake collar). Oh well! At the time I looked on the internet to see if this was a name for wrappers, and the only thing I found were actual collars with a cupcake design for dogs and cats. So I will offer my designs to cake central users.
I will add another post when I put collection together.
And thanks to all the support and kind words.
That's to bad you can't market them somehow.
But you are sweeeeet to offer your designs for cc users.
I recently found the cupcake collars on kitchenkrafts.com. I fell in love with them and so did the folks i served them to. If you can at all market them at a DECENT PRICE I think it would be very profitable for you. They seem to be outrageously priced and no one is offering wholesale.... just a thought.

Thanks for the info. I checked and I did use a 10" doillie. Maybe the ones I'm cutting are too short. I'll just keep trying.

I use 12" doilie. I get 3 out of each circle. And it fits perfect. Enough room for the glue.
I have to make 7 dozens of them for this friday.
I'm just starting in the cupcake world and I'm a bit confused as to what exactly you are talking about. Could anyone post a photo and an explanation? It sounds wonderful.
I used 12 inch circles. The ones I bought had frilly borders around a solid center. I cut along the edge of the center to get just the pretty part of the doily. Then, I wrapped it, just with my fingers, around my cupcake to measure how much I needed to make my wrapper. I got three cupcake wrappers out of one doily!
Once I had the doily cut, I used it as a pattern to cut the paper, leaving about a 1/4 inch extra along one edge to overlap for gluing. Then just glue the doily to the paper and glue the paper into a circle.
I got the materials pic out of Marthas stewart website. The second pic. is my mini cupcake tower for a babyshower.
What a beautiful display!
Thanks for the info. Your instructions are so easy to follow.
