Hey I have not done cup cakes for anyone other than family before and I have someone asking for prices. How much do you usually charge per cupcake? HELP!!!!!

It depends on the decoration. But normally I start out with $1.25 ea. and the price goes up from there.

Generally I would say most cakers are in the $2 and up range per serving. Cupcakes go toward the higher end of each category. Why? Well when you make a cake it is one cake you frost and fill, one box, one easy transport. When you make cupcakes, you frost 24 individual cakes, 24 decorations, then you need more packaging because cupcakes tend to move and roll, more difficult to transport.

If you do fondant, you just multiply the work further. So the point is, don't charge less thinking they are only cupcakes and less work. They are more work and you should get paid appropriately.
