Just wondering if a tilting turn table (Wilton) is worth investing in.
Anyone have one???

NO NO NO NO.

It was not level. It wobbled. It dumped cakes on the floor. What an overpriced piece of garbage.

I use their $14 model and I'm more than happy with it.

I was wondering about it too! I have been eyeing it for months, but couldn't get myself to spend that much money on it!!

lot of my students in wilton class use them.. they love them. i have a tilting one by pme. or i would get the wilton one.. since the students say they like it..

I don't have one so I can't tell you from personal experience, but it's only because I researched the reviews before I bought it and saw too many disappointed owners, so I decided against it!

I've used this one for 4 years, even used it on a 4-tier wedding cake. It works like a champ for a fraction of the price:

I bought one and took it back. Did not think it was worth the money even with my 50% off Michael's coupon. I could not imagine a heavy cake staying on that turn table when tilted. I played around with it and spun it around and titled it and played some more and then I thought about it over night and back it went. I did not even want to try it out with a real cake.

I have the old Wilton white plastic one and it works great. When taking the tilted one back I bought Wilton's new model with the locking feature and I really like it (the one with the green trim on the bottom).

I have one and I didn't have any problems. Also I used a 50% coupon when i buy.

o.k. it sounds like Wilton has three so far.

is it the one with the black non skid top? if so I use mine all the time...no problems at all. I would never put a 4tierd cake on it but thats not because its wilton but because thats madness!!!!!!

It was about $20. The tilting one might be great but I guess I chickened out using it. Maybe I should have tried it with a real cake like a 10 or 12 inch - Djor seems to like it.

don't waste your money. I'm using mine right now it is not level. I'm giving this to my daughters for their play kitchen

I don't know if those who love it, got the same one I did, but the one I had was nothing but junk, and went right back, and I did try it, but I don't like living so dangerously, especially with someones cake.

I have the Wilton Professional Turntable. It doesn't tilt. But I don't do a lot of string work or side piping anyway. And it's not made of plastic like the other Wilton stands. The base is really heavy painted metal (it ain't goin' nowhere...very stable) With a sturdy aluminum disc that spins smoothly and evenly. I'm not a fan of Wilton in general. But I give them their due when I find a good product from them...and there are a few. Only problem with this turntable, it costs about $70.

$5 (to cover the trip to post office) plus shipping for anyone that wants mine! Seriously! LOL!!!!

DO NOT BUY IT! I had a 9" cake slide off of it--not worth the money (I returned it the next day). I use a wooden turntable now and it works fine.

I only like the green wilton one.

Waste of money. I had a 10-inch cake slide off - luckily I was able to grab it before it hit the table and just had to re-frost it.

I would not buy it. The non skid part works great for keeping the cake base/board in place, but it does nothing for the cake sliding off the board! I have almost lost two cakes using it. I have not used it in a very long time. If it were say 10 or 20 bucks that would be one thing, but it is like $60! am I right?

question for those who had cake slip off board, but board stayed on the turntable:

did you "glue" the cake to the board by putting icing on top of the board before putting the cake on it?

i haven't had a cake slide off but it is very wobbly. the top of the turn table doesn't sit level in the pedistal bottom part.

Sooo does ANYONE have a TILTING turn table that they love? Can you tell me where you got it and for how much? Thanks!
