My cousin just asked me a question that I thought was interesting. Does any one know if a white icing or white fondant covered cake will glow under a black light? She is having her son's 6th birthday at an indoor miniature golf place and apparently they have black light birthday parties there.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks so much for any input in this.
Amy
I would assume that the fondant or even icing would glow! That would be pretty cool. I was at a kid's museum a few weeks ago and I remember being surprised by how anything white or yellow glowed.
Did you see the FN Challenge where she put the tonic water mixed with clear piping gel on the cake and the whole thing glowed under black lights? I wish I had known that when I did my grandson's guitar hero cake. We had his party at the Glow Golf place and the party room was in black lights with lots of glow in the dark paint on the walls. His cake was covered in black fondant and if I had know the trick with the tonic water I would have painted it so it would have glowed. That would have been so cool.
Ditto luv_to_decorate! Mary Maher did the piping gel thing and it turned out really amazing under black light!
