How do I get this color? I've tried orange and brown ---too brown, too dark. I tried orange and ivory ---too orange. I tried copper and ivory ---too ugly! What the ...?
Well...since I'm an Aggie I would have to agree with you, but I think the longhorn groom might get a little upset.
I would add just a drop at a time of red into a brightly colored orange icing, and a drop of brown to tone it down just a bit. My two cents.
When I made the cake below, the color was the same as half of DH's wardrobe (he's a diehard Longhorn fan)...it wasn't on purpose, really. but I mixed, orange, a bit of red and a bit of brown...not much...
I wish I had a clearer picture of it, it really was darn near the same color.

If you can find the orange color then start with it and then add brown. U could also try orange and a little black. If not then start with yellow and then add a little brown, then start adding the red, if its too much, the yellow will be easier to fix than if starting with red. HTH
