What's the difference between all these dusts -- petal, pearl, luster, platinum, shimmer, and crystal colors? There are so many chooses I don't know which one to pick.

It does get confusing. Here goes...
Petal Dusts have a flat finish and can be applied with a brush dry or diluted with water and applied.

Luster Dusts leave a shiny finish and can be applied dry or mixed with Lemon Extract or a clear alcohol like Vodka or EverClear to apply.

Platinum and pearl dusts look white but reflect a color. So, violet pearl will reflect violet tones on the cake. Silver Platinum will reflect silver tones. Pearls dust are labeled non-toxic like all the petal and luster dusts. Platinum Dusts are FDA approved for food use.

Are all these dust considered edible? I see where some are FDA approved and non-toxic. Just want to make sure I don't poison anyone.

Now I'm looking under Platinum dusts and I see several different types of Silver -- Brillant, Glitter, Satin and Silk. What's the difference between those?

The difference in the Platinum line is the particle size. The glitter will have a larger particle size than the silk. These dusts are all very close in appearance. It is a matter of personal preference and trying the products. Alan

what about twinkle?disco dust? how do you apply that? I see it comes in a larger size so do you need more of it to cover the same area, or is it just sold that way?

I gather it is more "sparkley" than luster dust? so should the finish look "wet" when it is done or is it more like luster dust with just a nice shimmer?
