How Much Space To Leave For Flowers Between Tiers?

My cousin is getting married and wants me to make her this cake. How much space (how many inches) should I leave between the tiers in order to fit the roses?

Thanks
The hidden pillars, which will give you between 2-3" ... the pillars are 6" and assuming a 4" tall cake, you'll have 2" between the tiers.

Push in pillars you can get in different sizes ... 5", 7" and 9".

leahs, I have 2 wedding cakes coming up with that type of design.
One is 4 tiers, all seperated with flowers in between so you can't see the pillars and the other is 4 tiers with the top 3 stacked together and a space between those and a 16 in square, again with flowers in between the bottom and the 3 stacked.
I have never used SPS, but would like to try it.
I understand that the pillars would be 6" or 7" to leave a space. Would you use a plate 1" or 2" larger than the cake? Also do you deliver cakes like this assembled?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I wondered this too. I was making a 6", 8" and 10" cake. I used 6" and 8" SPS plates and 6" pillars. I also used cardboard cut 3/4" larger than the SPS plate (6 3/4", 8 3/4") so that the SPS plate wouldn't be visible.
I also did this because I didn't know if the cake would slide off the SPS plate during transport. So, I put each cake in its own box and put the tiers on the SPS plate with the pillars once I got there. It turned out well I think (despite the florist doing the flowers much different than the brides request), but I would love tips for the future. Thanks so much!
