I really want to try this, but she doesn't say how many cups of hot water she uses to mix up the powdered creamer that she adds to the shortening in the beginning of the video.
Anyone have an idea? Anyone try this recipe? How did it turn out? Good for frosting and piping? Does it crust over at all? What about to make roses?

HELP!!!

I believe Sharon's youtube videos are sneek peeks for the instructional DVD's that she sells, so don't expect to get all of the info you need from those videos....believe me, I wish it were that simple. Her DVD's are on my Christmas wish list!

I have used Sharon's BC recipe, going on two years and I LOVE IT! When mixing up your powder creamer, you mix equal amount of creamer and hot water...EXP: 1/2 creamer and 1/2 cup hot water, 1 cup creamer and 1 cup hot water.

This recipe crust very very good, I have used it to do all my piping and I have done roses with it also. I like my texture of the icing to be kind of thick, but I will add a few more tablespoons of the creamer mixture when I do cupcakes. I do use for the most, my own flavoring combo...but have also done Butavan and Wedding Boquet (she uses) flavorings. I get wonderful and great comments on this icing.

Hope this helps you, also she has wonderful blog. She has great tips and photos of things she has done. She also has just come out with a new dvd call "A Design Gallery ". It [quote Sharon]("showcases over 120 photos of my cake designs, which I narrate over beautiful background music, giving you helpful hints and tips, and pointing out tools and techniques used."). I have her BC dvd & stacking dvd, they are awesome dvd's and she is outstanding in them.

God Bless & Happy Holidays,
Sharon

Thanks Sharon!
I am going through all the posts and it could take me all night... lol.
Can you just answer me this... I went on the youtube video and watched you make the icing and it stated it was 5 - 5 1/2 cups of shortening and then you added 4 lbs total of powdered sugar... but then in all the posts it states you use 5 lbs. Which one is right?
Also I just was reading that you use 21 Tablespoons of the coffee creamer mixture but in the video you only counted up to 16 T... ??? which one?
I just want to make sure I get this right since I am down to the wire and stressing about it not turning out then having to find a store that is even open in my town at midnight tomorrow night for a cake that is for Saturday....
sorry, just rambling and stressing.
HELP!
Also, couldn't you just leave a flavoring extract or mixture out if you just used say the french vanilla flavored coffee creamer powder? If you still recommend adding a flavoring of some sort, can you add it at the end if it's not the taste you want?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

i use 5 generous cups, so in reality it is about 5.5 cups

TOTAL of 20 TBs liquid. 4 is my wedding bouquet and 16 is the creamer.

u can use any combo of flavorings you like. Just make sure you adjust everything so the TOTAL liquid is about 20-21 Tbs of liquid.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

my pleasure! let me know if you need anythng else and good luck!

Does anyone have any ideas on the easiest way to do a quilted look on buttercream besides the impression mat?
I bought one from Sharon when I got one of her DVD's and cannot find it from moving... so sad!
When I have done it on fondant I have used a ruler, but not sure if that will work as well on a round cake.
HELP!

Sharon,
You know what I just realized, when you answered my first question about the 5 cup issue I was meaning the powdered sugar...
You had mentioned on the posts it was 5 pounds of sugar but on the youtube video I only came up with you adding 4 pounds... which one should I go with if I do 5-5 1/2 cups of shortening?
Thanks and sorry for the confusion.
