Does any knows how to make fondant poinsettias?

I don't have an answer but was wondering the same thing. I know their are special cutters out there but I think you could just use a leaf cutter and dry them over some crumpled paper or such. Make six each of 2 sizes or just find a photo that you could mimick the look of the petal stack.

I am going to try later this week. We shall see how it goes.

Depends on how big and/or simple you want them.
For extra simple: cut red fondant &/or gp w/a daisy cutter & dry cupped. If you want a fuller one, stack several of these together w/the petals between the bottom ones.
The center is a series of dots piped on top of each other
green, yellow and red....use tip 3 for the green, tip 2 for the yellow & tip 1 for the red.
If you want life sized/real looking ones someone else is going to have to help you. I've not done it

I just made some the other day with a five petal pointed cutter which I don't think is a Poinsettia but I cut out 2 and then glued one to the other with the petals staggered and then made a little cup with foil.They turned out really well.All I have to do is the tiny yellow dots inside!!

If you pm me with your email, I can send you a tutorial of the poinsetta I scanned in from a book by Nicholas Lodge. It is a gumpaste flowers book, but I suppose you could adjust according and make it with fondant.

Loucinda: What cutter/veiner did you use for the beautiful Pointsettias?

Loucinda...you mentioned in the comments under the poinsettia photo that you got your cutters at GSA, but is yours the 5 piece or 7 piece cutter set? The small set which is the 5 piece, says it would make a flower approx. 2-3 inches wide but your flower looks a bit larger in the photo. Also I didn't see the veiner for it...is it listed just as a "poinsettia veiner"?

Thanks folks for the nice comments - I used the 5 piece set. I also just used a regular leaf veiner, not a special one just for poinsettias. I am sorry I don't remember where I got it - it is pink, so maybe Beth Parvu? Yes, they were bigger than 2 - 3 inches....I would say they were about 4". Making 40 of them - I got pretty good at making them!

OK - the post with the poinsettia says I got it at GSA, I really can't remember! I can take a pic of it for those who want to know for sure, but really, any one that will make a similar pattern will work.
