Royal Icing & Tiara

Does anyone know if you can make a royal icing without the merange powder. My daughter is allergic and I would like to make her a tiara for the top of her cake. Or is there something else someone would suggest.

Royal icing is made with egg whites or powdered egg whites or reconstituted meringue powder.

I know there are substitutes for egg whites in baking, but I don't think any of them would be suitable for royal icing.

Have you considered using chocolate or candy melts, rolled fondant or gumpaste for the tiara?
