Okay, so I'm way over my head.
I offered to donate a cake to my sister for her son's birthday party. What was once a family only party has now turned into a bit more social event. With some people a little more upscale than I like.
I'm going to attempt my 1st 2 tier cake.
I should be simple, but I'm freaking out!
Can I stack the cakes with dowels 1 day ahead and finish decorating the next day before the party or do I have to do everything the day of the party.
The cake design is pretty simple and all BC except for some MMF decorations (#4 and a tag w/"Happy Birthday")
HELP!

I don't think you have to do everything the day of the party. I've always completed my cakes the night before with no problems. There's only one in my pictures right now, but several years ago, I had a two-tier cake for my Mom's 60th surprise party that I did the night before, then 18 hours later had to drive it to the party, 40 miles away, with a screaming 9 month old (but that's a different story icon_biggrin.gif )

You'll do just fine!
