I just watched the DVD and I wanted to know if anyone else was disapointed??

I am.

Just as she says "it transfers perfectly" you can see white spots with no chocolate transfer.

I thought that her technique would get me the same result on fondant that I get on chocolate. I was wrong.

I bought the Cake Bible too, I'm unwrapping it right now......
I hope it will cheer me up!

icon_surprised.gif nobody else bought it? icon_surprised.gif

Has the technique worked for anyone?

You don't have to agree...
You can tell me I'm out of my mind for not liking it! lol

Seriously I just wanted other opinions.

I had pondered over buying it for some time, but then I saw that she did a tutorial on how to do it on an issue of ACD. That was more than I needed, so I didn't buy the dvd.

I am very interested in using transfer sheets on fondant, I have tried many times but it hasn't worked for me. My next step is to try it using a craft iron, and if it doesn't work I was thinking in buying the dvd as the last resource. Now i'm not sure due to your comment Delphine.

Did you try it?
Did it work for you?

I would like to hear from someone who has succeded.

I tried last night a few times but transfers are expensive when they end up in the trash.

If you want small pieces (1") it is possible to use only the parts that look good but would end up with lots of waste.

If you want the transfer to be on a larger piece of fondant, it does not look good at all.

I realy wanted it to work.

I refuse to believe that we don't have a chocolate transfer genius on CC. icon_lol.gif

I didn't try it. It just looked kinda messy and gave me the impression that if you don't have steady hands, you'll smear the transfer or something. I figured that I could probably replicate whatever I wanted on edible images instead and have better success. Also, Lucks now has some pretty cool edible images to use on the sides of cakes. You can go to the lucks website directly to check it out and see how it can be used. I liked that idea better.

I bought the DVD but haven't tried it on anything but Chocopan and that wasn't very successful. I think it was because chocopan is a little softer and greasier. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to try it again. And I agree that it was rather disappointing and there were spots after she lifted it. I thought the transfer would be more prominent than it was.

Don't know if that helps.

I bought the DVD and tried it and I didn't have too bad of luck. It actually turned out good. I did it for the first time for a customers cake. I only did the top, and sides were done with basketweave impression. Customer loved it. It does leave a small bit of chocolate on the transfer when you are done. But my image was very clear and great. It was all butterflies. I used Albert Uster Fondant and did everything she said in the video. I would make sure you don't remove things out of order and make sure to cool completely. I was not disappointed. I also thought that the ACD demonstation was pretty complete like the video. I will be demonstrating at a Nebraska ICES DOS in two weeks. I hope I still have as good of luck. I also did use the craft iron and if you check at Michaels they have them. I would use your coupon or buy from Christine. icon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

Are you referring to Christine Schnee? I'm taking her chocolate transfer class at the Mid-Atlantic cake show this weekend. Where did you find her DVD?

I'll let you know how the class goes with her there to guide me!
