I don't have any Tylose or CMC or any kind of gum... and I want to make a gumpaste shoe icon_cry.gif

What can I add to my fondant instead of the above mentioned gums? or is there a recipe for gumless gumpaste?!!

Strange as this sounds you can knead denture powder into your fondant and it will act more like gumpaste. It doesn't harden as quickly but it will work in a pinch.

Here is a recipie I found for you, I havent used it, but I found it in a book of gumpaste flowers...

1 teaspoon powdered gelatine
1 tea. powdered glucose
6 teaspoons water
1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted

Soak the gelatine and glucose in the water for 15-20 min. then dissove completely over low heat. Add to the icing sugar and mix well to a smooth pliable consistency. Add more icing sugar if necessary until the required consistency is reached. Store in a plastic bag in a sealed container. Allow to rest 30 minutes before using.

You should be able to find all the ingredients at a grocery store...you could also order Tylose or CMC from a cake supply store...

I hope this works for ya!!
