I have seen many cakes being airbrushed. Do you have to have the kopycake airbrush or can you use a regular airbrush tool. What kind of ink do you use. Tell me all about it. Please I want to try this

We have an artist airbrush by Aztec. The A470 model. My daughter has used the copycake airbrush in school but she has much better conrol she said with the Aztec.
Here is a forum where she shows the Aztec in use.

We bought the airbrush from an online hobby shop fairly cheap.(about 119.00) It is a dual action airbrush with about six differant tips included. She said it is more comfortable to hold and grip for better control. It has 2 jars plus 3 smaller caped cups for 'painting" without spilling. If you search the web you should be able to get better prices on airbrushes.
Like here it is cheaper than I bought now.

A popular airbrush is from kopykake.

Here is the link, this is the cheapest I have found on the variable one $209, everyone else was $250 to $279.

I forgot to let you know what color to use.... We use the Kroma Kolor food color for airbrush dyes.

If you don't mind me asking what compressor did you buy? I went out to Winbeckler.com and they are advertising the Deluxe Mini Compressor
for $165.00 are there any less expensive. And you do need a compressor correct?

Thanks

Chris

Yes you do need a compressor...but my husband already had a few of them. I know you should have one that is capable of at least 10lbs pressure or more. If you can regulate the pressure it works better than a "set" pressure compressor. But that is where the double action airbrush helps also as compared to single action. It's all about the control of the flow... icon_lol.gif

hi , i have an airmaster from kopykake and i love it. its the red model and has the control knob so you can control the air flow. i have been able to color almost like in a coloring book or larger areas with no problem. my mom got it for my bday last year from online i think it was about 250.00 with an extra set of colors. definately suggest getting yourself one.
