Ok, I've been fooling around on the computer instead of doing some baking and gumpaste work I need to do. That's bad when you'd rather PLAN your next cake than work on it!

Anyway, I came up with a spreadsheet of ways to doctor cake mixes, including cake flavors, instant puddings, frostings you could use between layers (sometimes I just don't want to make a batch of german chocolate and take the easy way out! Shhh!), extracts, coffee creamers and jams & jellies.

I wanted to add LorAnn oils but I couldn't find a list that woudl cooperate in Microsoft Word.

Suggestions, additions welcome!

so is it more or less a list of all the type of flavors or is there a method to figuring out which one goes w/ which one? Thanks!

Well I just made a triple chocolate cake and added chocolate chips to the batter. Then I'm going to fill it with chocolate mouse and ice it with chocolate ganache.

I'm sure most people have tried it but if not...... a super easy way to make a mouse is to take whipping cream and add a package of instant pudding to it. Whip until mouse texture. Very easy and very good tasting. Rich and yummy.

To the mouse you could add bits of chocolate chips, fruit, nuts and so on.

Ok I think I got it lol I right clicked save target as and then clicked open and it said downloading and opened it but then a pop up came up that said "some data may have been lost" so I'm not sure lol..... I thank you though icon_biggrin.gif

Now do you recommend using each line together like all of the first set together or are they just suggestions of what you COULD do? lol I was a bit confussed.

It's just a list, I just wanted a way to see a variety of options at once. I'm a Virgo, we like to make lists icon_smile.gif And it could be something to show a customer unsure of what kind of cake they would like.

But if I COULD make it interactive, that would rock!

Joanne, how did you know I needed an easy mousse recipe?? Thanks!

So I need to add different kinds of chips, nuts and fruits, ganache and mousse. And people add sour cream to mixes too...and zests, can't forget zests!

All those choices are scary to me! And what about if you're making a cake for someone else? How would they ever decide?

"ok, I'd like the blackberry sourcream, no wait I think I want the lemon curd and berries, no better make that the white chocolate raspberry...it would never end!"

They all sound so good, I'd like to try them, not make them!

Why on earth does this come up as a recent conversation in an email from CC when it's from 2006?!?!

I would have loved to have seen this wonderful spreadsheet @mqguffey ‍ worked so hard to create.
It doesn't seem to be a part of the thread any longer. :-(
