It is very difficult to repair a tear. sometimes you can pinch it gently and rub it smooth. It is sometimes necessary to just put a flower on the blemish. Small marks should come out with the fondant smoother, but you need to start smoothing right away, before the exterior starts to dry and set.

If the flaw is small enough you can use Duff's method from Ace Of Cakes, he matches the color of the fondant with royal icing, pipes a small line of royal into the crack and smooths with his finger. It almost makes the flaw disappear completely.
