Hi, I'm in the hunt for the BEST cupcake carrier out there, after doing some research online I found the 2 I think are best, so I wanted some opinions if anybody owns this...

1. http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_k/002-4173794-2272021?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Dgarden&field-keywords=cupcake+carrier (the oneida one)

2. www.cupcakecourier.com (as seen on Rachel Ray)

So, for the same $40 (with shipping included) I can either buy 2 of the 1st option that would hold 48 cupcakes or just 1 of the 2nd option that holds 36... so my BIG question is, if there is enough space between the trays so my icing and decs will stay put (I love using my 1M tip for the buttercream) Does anybody own either one??? Please, any advice... Thanks so much! thumbs_up.gif

Hi nefgaby,

I have the Onieda carrier and I use it frequently. I love that it can hold 24 cupcakes at a time, however...the top tray will smoosh the cupcakes on the bottom if they have much height at all. I also use a 1M tip frequently and find this very frustrating. Also, the bottom tray is a regular cupcake pan, which is great for baking additional cupcakes but, it is difficult to get decorated cupcakes out of without messing them up. (there is no space to "grab" the cupcake) The top layer is not as tall and much easier to grab the decorated cupcakes. The last thing is that the area where the handle is sits a little lower in the middle of the lid and will also squish any cupcakes that have height to them. Overall it is nice to have something to carry the cupcakes in but there are defintely some design changes that would make it better. HTH

I have the cupcake courier and I LOVE it. There is LOTS of space between layers - plus I think it makes you look more professional with a nice carrier. You can see them in my photos... And here's another view - decorated with the 1M tip.

I've never seen these before! What a great idea.. it would be so much easier to carry this around... I usually use my larger cake pans to transport cucpakes...

Is this able to go in the dishwasher?

Thanks for letting us know about this!

I was just reading about the cupcake courier and someone just came up with that simple idea and made money off of it. I'm just sometimes amazed at what people can come up with. Anyway, I'd love to get this item. I just baked cupcakes..trying a new recipe out and will probably taking them into work for my coworkers to try out (my guinea pigs icon_smile.gif ). This would come in handy. I'll probably be carrying in a couple rubbermaid storage containers in come Monday morning.

Hi ladies, Thanks sooo much for your comments on both carriers.... I was hoping the Oneida worked since it is a LOT cheaper and for the same price can hold 12 more cupcakes, anyway, I'll be honest, I like the design (colors) of the courier better than the oneida... Thanks so much for that picture (I read white chocolate frosting, OMG, yuuuuumy!) Anyway, thanks sooo much, I really appreciate the help (gotta love CC!)
OK, will start saving so I can get 2 of the couriers.... yep, thats 72 cupcakes! thumbs_up.gif

Where is the 'grab' of the cupcake? From the top? Can't tell how to get the cupcake out of the carrier. icon_confused.gif

Thanks for the info, do you have a link to their site and or how to find them? For some reason I can never find what I'm looking for on their website... icon_confused.gif

Thanks so much Miriel!! Wow, $10 compared to $33... so that is 81 cupcakes for the price of the 36 one, so does anyone else own this one?? Does the plastic material look kind of durable? I'm sorry, so many questions.

I almost got that ABC one and I HATED it. First, you have to drop the cupcakes down into the tub by holding these tabs on the side. That, in itself isn't bad, but.... those tabs are removable (at least the ones I saw) and when I was just PRACTICING, one of the tabs detached while I was holding the tray... or what if it slipped off while I was driving? How would I get the cupcakes off.

I also did the measurements, there is more space between layers with the cupcake courier case. And lastly, the wells for the cupcake are a little deeper in the courier so that they are less likely to tip over.

Take a close look at the picture of the ABC one.... there isn't space for a swirled top using a 1m tip, imo. Remember, that each well is shallow, but it still dips down...

Hmmm... let me find the post I wrote about it (this is the same carrier as the Martha Stewart one that is/was available at Kmart - I asked!).

Well, whaaaaaaaa......I have the Wilton one and would much rather have one of these!!!! I think I'll just have to have one anyway. Just a side note on the ABC Dist. one....I've ordered quite a bit of things in the past and while they sell quality merchandise (for the most part) be aware their shipping costs are a bit inflated, not tons of savings there.
Thanks for sharing, you've added another item to my cake decorating collection, my DH will just love you for this, lol.

Thanks for the link miriel.

I have a funny story about cup cakes. Back when I was in 2nd grade.. (OK I'm almost 51 so that was a long time ago),
my mom baked cuo cakes for school. She put them in the tuppweware cake taker. I thought it was upside down so I turned it over, after she said not to. She had to go home and redo all the cup cakes.. I dont remember how much trouble I got into......... icon_cry.gif
