Hi fellow CC'nians,
Does anybody have a recipe to make Caramel that is used to coat
Apples ? the kind that does not drip..The kind that comes out like
"sheets" to wrap an Apple before dipping into Chocolate..

I don't like the "runny" kind. I know I can just melt a bag of Kraft Caramel Candy, but I was thinking if anyone here has a recipe that I can make. Thank you very much

Have you tried going to the Kraft website? They may have a recipe there for you.

This is the recipe I use. It isn't like a sheet, but it's really good. HTH, Kristen

1/2 cup butter
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
Dash salt
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
10 apples, washed, dried

Melt butter in saucepan and add brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a full boil (about 10 minutes). Stir in sweetened condensed milk. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms a firm ball or candy thermometer reaches 245°F (about 20 to 25 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Dip apples into caramel mixture. Place onto buttered waxed paper.
